Candy Borquaye has established herself as a notable and prominent artist representing the Australian Hip- Hop scene with pioneering enthusiasm. Candy embodies all that is Hip Hop, from the skills and styles to the inherent versatility and originality. Candy is extremely multitalented and incorporates several styles into her music including, electro, dubstep, R&B and live band performances as well as both commercial and underground hip-hop.
Candy is currently working on her first full-length release with local and international producers and is steadily generating international hype surrounding her music. Candy has collaborated with various well-known local artists such as Vida Sunshyne, Lee Monroe, eGasm, Jake Savona, Stormey Coleman, Mike Champion, Chasm, and NeeQ.
Her single, "Came Here To Party" was featured on the episode SINGLE LADIES of the Queen Latifah show. Candy also collaborated and appeared in the promotional material for “Pro Players Network” (a cable/satellite TV Network owned by every living NBA & NFL player).
Candy collaborated with NeeQ on their joint release “Play The Beat: Mixtape” and after the success the pair joined forces again to collaborate on the latters first solo album.
January 10th 2012 saw Candy release her first solo Mixtape UNRESTRICTED hosted by DJ Nino Brown. This solidified Candy as a force in the Australian hip-hop movement highlighting her undeniable talent as an Emcee.
Candy’s video for single “Who You Are” featuring Vida-Sunshyne & eGasm is reflective of her high-energy performances and originality.
Her strong stage presence and passionate performances, which in combination with up-tempo style beats, produce a show not to be missed. Candy has performed numerous shows both in Australia and internationally at the iconic House of Blues and has supported well renowned artists such as Twista, Bow Wow, Bone Thugs and Harmony, and Jeremih.
Candy Borquaye is finalizing her first solo release working with Australian producer Kustom and Los Angeles own Cali Swag District (producers of the worldwide smash “Teach Me How To Dougie”) as well as up and coming producers from France and Germany.
While in LA Candy featured in rap superstar B.O.B’s upcoming video with Scotty ATL, T.I.’s producer Caviar and Trinadad James new collaboration “Palm trees make California” and made a guest appearance in the upcoming video for California’s Lil Raucy.
