The underground, immersive, experimental circus collective, Cirque Du Gras, combines whip-cracking contortion and fire-breathing aerials with operatic clown antics and surrealist juggling mayhem.
Composed of seasoned professionals in the circus, sideshow, vaudeville, and visual arts, Cirque Du Gras, offers an alternative to the mainstream cirque culture of today. It's raw humor and offbeat subject matter dissolve the "fourth wall," allowing audiences to discover a unique universe of whimsically disturbed characters.

Cirque du Gras - consisting of aerialists, contortionists, singers, musicians, jugglers, and fire-breathers, hopes to take it's audience into a timeless contemporary inspired setting. To do this, they took over the St. Roch Firehouse, a venue that holds approximately 100 people. It's been newly restored and is an impressive space. "We chose it for the high ceilings and high audience capacity" said Kai Ito, the defacto manager of Cirque Du Gras. "We expect to sell out each show, as well as provide low income tickets on a case by case basis as to not exclude anyone from the community. So we'd like to host as many as we can." The high ceilings provide an opportunity for the aerialists to increase the stakes of their death-defying stunts, much to the enjoyment of all in attendance.
This outrageous show is scored by a band just as interesting as the acts on stage. "The G-String Orchestra", a three piece balkan-gypsy folk band, is the glue that holds the show together. Additionally, the intermission act is performed nightly by the lovely Tasche De La Rocha, who's soulful voice keeps the audience right in their seats when they can be ordering from the bar.
The show will run each night at The St. Roch Firehouse, from February 13th - 16th, with doors opening at 7:30 and the show starting promptly at 9:00PM. Beer and wine will be served.
