Soulful country, mixed with a little pop and rock is what you hear from singer/songwriter, Katie Monroe. Born and raised in Perrysburg, Ohio, Katie has been on the stage since the young age of 3. Her influences range from The Rolling Stones to Carrie Underwood, and Johnny Cash to Katie Perry.
Katie’s enthusiasm is instantly apparent, even infectious, as she ventures her career into Nashville as a recording artist. She’s quick to point out that, for her, country music is a way of life-not just a twangy tune. Hard work and independence have been just as integral in her life as her supportive family and friends.
A Beautiful life.
This theme is taken to heart as her outlook on life. Recognizing that even when things around her are not physically beautiful, her life is. The tendency in most genres of music, to follow trends, has no merit for Katie. She stays true to who she is, and stays on her own path... her beautiful life.
New Songs Being Written
Katie is excited to announce that she is working with Fred Shafer on song writing. Fred has a similar style to Katie and is a great asset to Katie's musical talents. Between Katie and Fred, look for at least 10 original songs to be written by early September 2011. The staff and management at Katie Monroe Music will then begin the task of recording and producing Katie's first EP. This is a very exciting time for everyone at Katie Monroe Music. Song Writing
Katie's manager is currently in Nashville assisting Katie with a song writing opportunity with Fred Shafer. Katie will begin to co-write with Fred on Tuesday, June 14th and will have 10 original songs ready to record by early September., 2011.

Writing a New Song
Katie is busy working on a new song. She is blessed to be able to have the opportunity to work with several well know Nashville Song Writers. We will have more details to come but the writing continues and so does the journey.
First Original Song Complete
Katie is excited to announce that she has completed her first original song, "Love Me for Me". Katie and Kevin Livingston have worked hard on this song and will be recording the song soon. Katie is working with many different song writers in Nashville and will have more songs completed soon. Keep checking back for updates.
Update from Nashville
This was a greast week in Nashville. Things are moving along in the right direction. Katie is very excited to have the opportunity to write with some of Nashville's best talent. Original Demo in Progress
Katie Monroe is excited to announce that she is working with Kevin Livingston creating an original demo CD. The demo will have 4 original songs by Monroe and Livingston. The first song is almost complete and they are ready to begin practicing and fine tuning. Watch for more exciting news as the demo progresses.
Song Recorded
Katie Monroe is excited to announce that she has recorded an old Loretta Lynn song "I Know How" in Toledo, Ohio at Studio 33. Paul Wise was great to work with and did a fantastic job with the recording.
An original demo is in the works and plans are to have that compelted by early summer 2011. Watch for updates and show times to be coming soon.
Trinity Lutheran Church, Arcadia Ohio
Katie will be performing the first live show of her original music on Saturday, October 1st beginning at 7PM at Trinity Lutheran Church on SR 12 in Arcadia, Ohio. This show is FREE and open to the public. Mark your calendars now....this is one you will not want to miss. Also appearing with Katie will be Fred Shafer.
