Seventeen year old Kimani Jackson is a singer, actor and dancer. He began singing and acting at the age of 3 with the Evelyn Graves Ministries Drama Productions in Philadelphia, PA. At the age of 10, Kimani was the youngest contestant to audition for “Sunday Best,” BET’s hit gospel singing competition, and got noticed by the judge and one of gospel's great, Donnie McClurkin. During his experience on Sunday Best, Kim Burrell, Tina Campbell, and host Kirk Franklin, also took notice of his amazing voice and personality and knew that he had a voice that only God could have given. Kimani's audition was so touching that it was aired on an episode of the show on BET.
Kimani Jackson didn’t stop there, he was then signed to Wilhemina Kids of New York City, where he was quickly booked and featured in a back to school radio commercial for Aunt Jemima syrup/pancakes and on 2 episodes of Sesame Street. His name and talent has gotten the attention of many, including Madison Square Garden where he performed a Michael Jackson song at a halftime show for the NY Knicks basketball team in front of thousands.
In September of 2013, Kimani had the opportunity to work alongside Tyler Perry and Cassie Davis in a stage play Called "Madea's Neighbors From Hell". This stage play was later released in April of 2014 on DVD. In the fall of 2015, Kimani was called back to make another appearance on the new Tyler Perry show that aired on the OWN network called "If Loving You Is Wrong" alongside Charles Malik Whitfield. Later that year Kimani Jackson's music teacher introduced Secdum Magazine to his work and his accomplishments. Secdum Magazine was so very impressed by his character and talent that he was featured as one of their cover stories in their 2015 Fall/Winter Issue. They felt that this energetic, loving, outgoing, respected and gifted singer and actor who loves to perform, and has a goal to reach as many people as possible, can be an inspiration to others.
Kimani understands the importance of education and is an honor roll student at Howard Vo-Tech High School in Wilmington, DE. Kimani is a leader amongst his peers and has received many awards for his academic accomplishment as well. Also, don't be shocked if you see him advertising a product on a billboard somewhere in your town, as he is a natural in front of a camera.
