Shandora (Mz. ShA) Rice, is a loving mother and grandmother,and has been singing for over 20 years.She is a proud native of St Louis, where music is rooted with richness. She has a very strong background in the entertainment business.
She started singing with local bands, including “The Fellaz ft. Mz ShA” and Young Brothers in Blues.She always enjoyed performing and entertaining people. So much so that, she decided she wanted to start my own band “Mz ShA & the Ka’ShA Band.
She has opened shows for Sir Charles, Theodis Ealey and Mr. Sipp The Mississippi Blues Child. She has performed in many venues in St. Louis, including a popular new local venue The National Blues Museum, Beale on Broadway and BB’S Soups & Jazz.
A very sought after performer, had landed her the opportunity to performed at several private events in St. Louis, East St. Louis, Mississippi, Arkansas and Kansas City MO, and also at the Fort Smith Riverfront Blues Festival. Covering many soul, R&B, blues, jazz standards like Aretha Franklin, Chaka Khan and Etta James.
She is a singer for the community as well, twice a month she provides music therapy at an adult day care in St Louis.
The crowd went WOW!, when Mz Sha performed and then was crowned Songstress of the Year.It was October 20,2013 at Real World Banquet Hall, sponsored by The Newsletter and Da Elite Bar & Grill. The Newsletter ReMix Awards Show is a semi-annual event and is one of the longest running Independent awards ceremonies in St Louis. Mz Sha followed 2 other singers who'd were crowned previously at recents shows.
