I grew up listening to jazz with my father. This is where my love affair with music began to blossom. I started to appreciate the variety of music my father played at home: Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughn, Carmen McCrae, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Cannonball Adderly etc. . This experience has enabled me to develop a unique style of my own which has been described as, “sultry and intimate, hugging notes and rounding out phrases with dynamic ease”. I have performed with Mr. Bill Bell (The Jazz Professor), The Herbert Mims, Jr. Quintet, Nassar Aberday Quartet, David Hardiman Sr.-All Star Band, and The East Bay Band to name a few. I have also worked at a few of the prestigious venues in the San Francisco Bay Area, which include: Yoshi’s (San Francisco), San Francisco Symphony Opening Celebration, San Francisco Jazz Festival, San Francisco Juneteenth Festival, Angelica’s Bistro, Sheba’s Lounge and The 57th Street Gallery.
