Biography of Rhonda Crowder
Singer/Song Writer
Making music at the early age of 9, Rhonda has memories of holding any available microphone in hand, singing to uplift and glorify God. Standing in the choir at Mt. Calvary AME Zion, her first song “Ride on King Jesus” started her on the way to becoming an anointed gospel artist. Rhonda’s musical aptitude is not surprising when one considers the musical background of her mother, father and older siblings, who are vocalist in gospel groups within their local community.
Rhonda Crowder continued to develop her musical gifts singing with various artists such as: Paul Hicks Combination Fellowship Choir, Greg Hoover and Charlotte Community Singers. While a student at N. C. A&T State University in Greensboro, N.C. Miss Crowder became part of the highly acclaimed, award-winning N. C. A&T Fellowship Gospel Choir, under the direction of Mr. Ron Jones. Through this fellowship, she was able to travel extensively up and down the east coast empowering the lives of many through song. Currently, Rhonda is a background vocalist with Ron Jones and Perfect Praise, in addition to Patrick Love and Spirit of David. She supports these music ministries not only with her vocal talent, but also serves with them in the community through outreach, making a positive impact in the greater Greensboro and Charlotte areas.
Outside of being a background vocalist, she has hit the ground running and is not looking back with her personal gospel-singing career. This year she will release her new single entitled “Pour Down” which is co-written and arranged by Miss Crowder. Hearts, souls and minds will be blessed tremendously through this inspired ministry. Rhonda would describe her style as “contemporary, leaving the people with a little more Jesus.”
Her desire is to glorify God, letting men, women, boys and girls everywhere know that Jesus Christ is the way, the truth and the light. As Rhonda moves forward in her quest as a gospel artist, she will continue to let the high praises of God be heard through her music. She is more than just a vocalist, but a woman making a joyful noise unto the rock of our salvation.
