True artistry exists through freedom of expression. Rita, a singer-songwriter from Monmouth County, New Jersey, has emerged onto the underground scene by way of musical expression. She aspires to incite raw emotion and high vibrations from all who listen to her music. Her lyrical content runs the gamut; with poetic lines about love and heartbreak, verses about the world versus reality, to up tempo music of the club and pop persuasion.
Rita has dedicated herself to the rise of independent music. By signing to a label owned by herself and her partner Omar “Trilla” Richardson, she has taken a stand to push her music and her company as a package deal. The music industry has taken a decline on content with substance. She hopes to bring back music with a message.
Her influences include the legendary Stevie Wonder, the late Whitney Houston, Prince, and Michael Jackson, as well as, Aretha Franklin, Etta James, Nina Simone, Sarah Vaughan, Erykah Badu, and Ms. Lauryn Hill. She has even been able to incorporate a hip-hop inspired flare to her content.
Her latest single “Crazy” -- produced and engineered by the incredible Jimmy Deer of JKD music-- can be found on iTunes, Spotify, Google Play, Tidal, among several other streaming websites. Subscribe to her on YouTube @87msrich and follow @itsybmg on Instagram for updates on Rita’s next releases.
