Shaneen Lavette is blessed to create music using her voice to create the melody lines of her songs. She writes, arranges, produces, and sings. Through the many gifts that God has blessed her with, she desires to encourage Sarcoidosis survivors, the rejected and those who have a passion for the arts. She began singing at home in her garage when she realized that she had a passion for singing. As time went on, Shaneen Lavette found herself writing music. She purchased her very own music equipment, which helped her to hone in on her musical gift to write melodies from her heart.

Shaneen originally began writing secular music. However, as God would have it, her niche changed from secular music to contemporary Christian and inspirational music. As time progressed, she began her recording sessions with her first studio engineer, David Sovereign. However, the time had not yet arrived for her to produce a complete project. Suddenly, the dream and the passion for writing and singing again began to resonate within her spirit, when a dear friend, Broderick Rice was brought back into her life. Through reconnecting with Broderick, she was encouraged to step out on faith, and believe God for her healing, through music and laughter.

The time had come for her to continue the recording process again. God blessed her life with her studio engineer David DeCuir, who is also International Gospel Recording Artist, Freda Mitchell's composer, music producer, and studio engineer. Freda Mitchell also encouraged Shaneen to produce her very own project. The collaboration of Shaneen, David DeCuir, and Freda Mitchell has culminated in the successful release of her first Award-Winning EP Imagine with Akademia Awards. To date, Shaneen Lavette has worldwide fans and over 1 million digital plays. Through the gifts that God has placed in her heart, it is her desire to encourage others to never give up on the dreams that God has placed in their hearts no matter what the temporal circumstances portray.
