The Shelby Love Brothers are an eight piece rock and roll band that saw its beginning right here in the New Carlisle area in early 2015. The band formed when area brothers, Herb, Ben, and Andy Hufford decided it was time they contributed something of their own to the music scene, after getting so much from it for many years. As children they heard the songs Neil Young, Bob Dylan, The Band, Van Morrison, The Beatles and countless other rock pioneers on a nearly daily basis. These influences also provided the songs that would help the brothers learn how to play and perform music.

Taking the lead, youngest brother Andy bought a second hand keyboard and promptly called on middle brother Ben for harmonica accompaniment. Oldest, Herb was quick to pick up the guitar and enlist the help of his best friend Kyle Edington to keep time on bass. With Avett Brother-esque aspirations, Ben began learning the banjo and called long time friend and guitarist Zeb McNabb to the porch of Mason Jar Farm, and so began the Shelby Love Brothers.

                                                                                                                                                      Initially, the project was just a way to learn their respective instruments and provide an excuse to get rowdy and rock out. After playing a few shows, the band found more musicians were interested in being a part of this energetic big family band. Army veteran and close family friend Brad McFadden joined the band as the mandolin player/ multi-instrumentalist in the fall of 2015. Followed by local solo musician and guitarist Seth Gilliam in early 2016. After playing with a few different drummers since their inception, the Shelby Love Brothers now travel with New Carlisle native and former Rise of Apollo drummer Scott Rogers on the kit.
