Andrei Iguodala is retiring

Golden State Warriors forward Andre Iguodala, 39, is retiring after nearly two decades in the National Basketball Association (NBA).

"I'm retiring to spend more time with my family," Iguodala said in an interview with ESPN-owned Endscape website on Monday (Feb. 21), according to AFP.

Iguodala, who made his NBA debut with the Philadelphia 76ers in 2004, joined the Denver Nuggets in 2012 before moving to Golden State in 2013.

During his six years with Golden State, he won championship rings in 2015, 2017, and 2018.

He had a brief stint with the Miami Heat in 2020, but returned to Golden State the following year to become a member of the 2022 championship team, collecting four championship rings in all.

The 2015 championship game, in particular, was the pinnacle of Iguodala's career.

Facing the LeBron James-led Cleveland Cavaliers, Iguodala had a breakout game that helped Golden State win the series 4-2.

Iguodala became the first player in history to be named Most Valuable Player (MVP) in a series without starting.

After averaging 11.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 4.2 assists in 1,231 NBA games, Iguodala joined Team USA at the 2012 London Olympics, where he won a gold medal. 슬롯

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has said that sanctions, including a ban on flying artificial flags, will continue until North Korea complies with doping rules, the Voice of America (VOA) reported on Tuesday.

When asked by VOA whether the sanctions imposed on North Korea, such as the flag ban, will affect other competitions in the future, a WADA spokesperson replied, "Yes, the North Korean National Anti-Doping Committee remains in non-compliance with the World Anti-Doping Code until the conditions for the reinstatement are met."

WADA imposed sanctions on North Korea in 2021, including a ban on the use of its flag, for failing to comply with doping rules.

However, North Korea's artificial flag was flown during the opening and closing ceremonies of the 19th Hangzhou Asian Games, sparking controversy over China's and the Olympic Council of Asia's (OCA) non-compliance with the measure and prompting WADA to issue a warning to the OCA.

Meanwhile, WADA did not immediately respond to a question about whether it had discussed with the Asian Paralympic Committee (APC) how it would respond to sanctions violations such as the display of the North Korean flag at the Hangzhou Asian Games, VOA reported.

Instead, the WADA spokesperson emphasized that "all international federations and major sporting organizations have been informed of the consequences of non-compliance by the North Korean authorities, and under the terms of the World Anti-Doping Code, all signatories are obliged to comply with these consequences."

North Korea withdrew from the APC-organized 4th Hangzhou Asian Para Games, which begins on April 22, citing a ban on flying artificial flags.

"North Korea is not allowed to fly artificial flags at the Games according to WADA's regulations," the APC said in a statement to NK News, a North Korean media outlet. "North Korea made the decision (to withdraw the team) after receiving the notification." 슬롯사이트

The joy was even greater because they were together. The women's swimming team was moved to tears by their achievements amidst the attention focused on the men's team, including Hwang Sun-woo and Kim Woo-min.

It had been 13 years since South Korea had won bronze in this event since Guangzhou 2010. In the final, the team set a new Korean record, beating the previous mark (8:04.24) by more than four seconds.

The athletes burst into tears of joy after securing the bronze medal, and were unable to calm down when they met with the media afterward.

Kim Seo-young, the "eldest sister," was overwhelmed with emotion after winning her third bronze medal of the Games after winning the 200-meter individual medley and 400-meter medley relay.

"Everyone is showing a lot of interest in men's swimming, but I'm happy that I showed that women can do it too," she told the media after the event.

"I had a disappointing performance at the World Championships in July, so this time I had a lot of ambition and a lot of pressure," said Kim Seo-young. "I had doubts about my ability to do well during the preparation process, but in the end I was able to do it," she said.

Heo Yeon-kyung, the 'youngest' competitor, said, "I was under a lot of pressure because I was the youngest here, and I wasn't sure if I could do well, but thanks to the support of my older sisters, I got a good result. When I saw my sisters' joy, I cried too, and I can't stop crying."

Park Soo-jin said, "I was worried about the relay because I trained mainly for the butterfly, but I'm glad I did my part."

According to Ulju-gun on Nov. 11, the team won four categories at the '2023 Seoul Mayor's National Para Dance Sports Championships' held at Seocho Gymnasium in Seoul on Nov. 10.

More than 190 athletes and officials from 13 teams participated in the competition.

Ulju-gun took first place in four categories: Combi Standard 5 Events Class 1 (Jang Hye-jung-Bae Bae-joo), Duo Standard 5 Events Class 1 (Lee Young-ho-Jang Hye-jung), Combi Standard 5 Events Class 2 (Hwang Ju-hee-Son Jae-woong), and Duo Latin 5 Events Class 2 (Hwang Ju-hee).

Earlier, the Ulju-gun team also won five categories at the '2023 Gyeonggi-do Governor's National Para Dance Sports Championships' held at the Dongducheon National Sports Center in Gyeonggi-do, Gyeonggi-do on the 9th, with 170 athletes and officials from 13 teams participating.
