Hailing from Marco Island, one of the few inhabited stretches of sand in Florida's 10,000 Islands, The Sheffield Crew explodes with a style all their own. Combining spitfire hip-hop, infectious island rhythms, as well as hard-driving rock and bouncy ska, The Crew are making a strong name for themselves within Florida’s growing Reggae/Rock scene. Comprised of the fiery Chris Jacobs on vocals, the incomparable Danny "Splenda" Iaconelli on guitar and vocals, bong rattling bassist Steve Dirt, and hard hitting drummer Shaun Jacobs, this collection of home-grown and technically trained musicians have already gained a devoted, often fanatical Florida fanbase.
After a strong release of the band's debut independently-produced album, "When The Night Falls", followed by a year of successful shows and regional touring, the The Sheffield Crew is back in the studio recording their 2nd full-length album "Sunny Place for Shady People". Known all over Florida for their high-energy shows, The Sheffield Crew have performed with such notable acts as Cypress Hill, Matisyahu, Pepper, Rebelution, Ky-Mani Marley, Dirty Heads, Sublime w/ Rome, Tribal Seeds, Fishbone, Passafire, The Supervillains, The Movement, Through The Roots, Lionize, and too many others to name. Whatever you choose to call the The Sheffield Crew's unique blend of music, they are a surefire way to smoke out any venue.
One of Florida’s fastest growing bands in the Reggae/Rock scene, The Sheffield Crew, is releasing their new album “A Sunny Place For Shady People”. The bands sophomore studio release will feature 6 brand new tracks recorded at Sound Lounge Studio in Orlando, FL, by Mike Stebe and Greg Shields (Ballyhoo, The Supervillains, Hor!zen, Kayavibe).
“A Sunny Place For Shady People” stays true to the bands Punk/Rock/Reggae roots, but takes their production quality to the next level. From the anthemic opening party song “Wasted” to the hard-driving horn-heavy title track “A Sunny Place For Shady People” (ft. Smally Smalls of The Supervillians), The Sheffield Crew continues to define and expand on their distinct Florida-fused sound.
The Sheffield Crew are currently on a week long Cruzan Rum-sponsored tour of the Virgin Islands with the Caribbean Rockalypso band, West Lindy. Within just a few weeks of their return they will begin production on a series of music videos to support the new album and have multiple dates lined up across the Southeast with Badfish: A Tribute to Sublime. The band will also be announcing additional upcoming dates with Gulfster Presents, their new management label and the official concert promotion partner of Gulfster.com - the Gulf Coast’s leading surf site.
“A Sunny Place For Shady People” will be available for download in it’s entirety on both BandCamp and iTunes for only $5 dollars.
