WABUSKA YACHTING CLUB... AHOY!
Wabuska Yachting Club play blues, folk, classic rock and alt-country favorites inspired by desert sunsets, open skies and the artists that have come before us. Wabuska Yachting Club is 6 friends working grooves that shout, "PARR-TY!"!". More than just a band, not truely a yachting club... it's more like a ship of fools on a cool sea.
Cassie sings with sweetness and plays percussion. Doyle sings and plays guitar, mando and keys. For Steve, its all about the Bass, man, and he can sing, too. Nick keeps time and and pickles the beats. Then there's the amazing Jeff Davis on lead guitar, banjo, mando and vocal . Add multi-nstrumentralist Colin Ross on keyboards and just about anything else you can think of. Yes, that includes accordion... and banjo... don't judge! The band has some great vocal harmonies and strong soloists. We're havin' fun rockin' this boat together.
When Wabuska Yachting Club sails into your port-o-call we bring a hold full of fun songs for drinking and dancing. a song selection born by the blues and the desert wind, rockin' like train racing down a track, and rollin' along a lost western highway. Modern and classic songs with memories as fresh as last night, and a history as long as time... time for a PAARR-TY!

The band has plans to return to the stages of the high desert this summer after the departure of key members, Tomarra Moon and Nick Mostly. The couple parted company with the band so Tomarra could take a 'job of a lifetime' in the Midwest and we wish them all the very best.
Since that sad parting, the band has gone back to the drawing board and come back strong with the addition of guitarist Don Johnson. Wecome Don! Look for the debut of the new line-up in late June 2017 at Studio On 4th. Watch for more announcements on our Facebook page and thanks for allyour support. Reno based Americana/Western Blues-Rock traditionalists, Wabuska Yachting Club, will be the first act on the bill for the inaugural High Desert Prairie Festival in Sparks, Nevada this weekend, June 28th and 29th.
WYC's special guest for this performance is string wizard Jim Beuhler of the popular local bluegrass band, Homemade Jam. Jim will add vioin, acoustic guitar and vocals to the WYC set heavy on electric country blues, in contrast to the predominantly acoustic performances over the festivals' two days. WYC's set begins Saturday morning at 11:00am in the amphitheater at Baldini's Casino.
Later the same day, WYC plays a special performance for residents on the historic Comstock, in Gold Hill, Nevada at Maynard's Station. All are invited for a great BBQ dinner party in the heart of Nevada's Virginia City National Historic Landmark, now being leveled by voracious and destructive mineral extraction practices that threaten the lives and livelyhoods of local residents. Come join us in solidarity, enjoy the hospitality of the locals and Maynard's Station and boogie on with WYC!

The pandemic didn't shut us down. We gathered outdoors or remotely weekly to make music and captured some performance on the video platform we dubbed Carousel-o-Vision. Now it's 2022 and we're provisioning for more joyous voyages of the Good Ship Wabuska!
