She has just moving to Nashville to take on the challenge of attracting the Nashville music industry. Emilee Allan is here to stand out and be the next Country Star.
I’ve just finished my first album and am so excited with the songs we selected, I was so glad we used one of my originals “Crazy Ride” and I co-wrote on seven others. Just had a blast over the last year in the studio and working with such talented people. I enjoy writing music and preparing for a show, but my favorite thing to do is perform live on stage. Regardless of the size of the venue, I love the energy of the crowd!
In November of 2008 a group known as ‘Young Americans’ came to a town in Southwest Michigan and I was invited to perform with them. In addition to the choreographed song and dance numbers, I was given an opportunity to do a solo of one of my original songs, “Today is the Day.” This experience genuinely changed my life. I had always loved music and the way that it can bring people together, but it was at this moment that it truly became my passion.
Still in her teens, Emilee’s talent has matured quickly, over the past 2 years she has been performing in her local town doing an acoustic show with Nate Miles on guitar. Last year they were asked to open for country star George Jones; there were more than 1200 in attendance. When Emilee’s album came out in January the theater asked her back to have her cd release concert and she had over 600 in attendance.
Emilee Allan in person is kind of soft spoken but with a sense of confidence. She loves to perform, and it shows.
The first single off the self-titled album “Emilee Allan” is “Crazy Ride” This is one of her first song she completely wrote and thought it would be great to show her talent as also a songwriter.
Working with renowned Nashville industry veterans such as acclaimed producer Kent Wells and song writers like Preston Brust and Karen Staley she has set herself up for success.
This black-haired, brown-eyed beauty has come a long way from the stages of southwest, Michigan, but the path she’s on Music City should take Emilee Allan much, much further.

Scarletta, a Nashville country/rock trio, rocked the Yellow Jacket Union on Friday September 20th with a 60 minute set. The band is off to a great year with over 150 shows and has been a part of the NACA (National Association for Campus Activities) circuit to over 100 universities from coast to coast. They continue to strengthen their touring presence at clubs and theatres throughout the country and I’m happy they made UWS one of their stops. They are definitely a band to go see if you like great country music with an electric stage presence.
The band is from Nashville where they have been working with Grammy Award-winning producer Black Chancey. They have been in the studio with a new production team of Steffon Hamulak and Eric Torres of The Desert Entertainment. Scarletta is composed of the fiddle player Nathan Stoops, guitarist Benji Harris, and lead singer Emilee Allan. Emilee is the new centerpiece to the band with her amazing lead vocals. According to their band website the band is a big believer in that everything happens for a reason and is convinced that Emilee has come to them at the perfect time. Nathan and his fiddle bring flare to country music that makes him one of the best fiddle players in Nashville. Benji is an accomplished bandleader who blends his lead vocals very well with his guitar playing. Scarletta was included in Billboard Magazine’s Top 10 Country Artists to watch in 2013 and their single “Right Here right Now” is definitely reeling in some attention.
8 o’clock was show time and the lights went off for Scarletta to take the stage at the Union. The band started the night out with high energy and just happy to be rocking the stage. Emilee was lighting up the union with her powerful vocals and great stage presence. You can tell that everyone in the band enjoys playing with each other when their jamming out with their backs against one another’s and huge smiles on their faces. The drummer and the bassist looked like they were having fun as well. What I really enjoyed about watching this band is that they used up the whole stage and was really having a blast playing the music their so passionate about. Nathan and his fiddle could have been heard all over campus, but hearing and seeing is two different things. You have to watch this guy to really feel the power coming off that fiddle. His sound works great with everything else in the band and I believe that sound is what truly makes them stand out in the country music scene. Benji also had a great stage presence and really blew up the stage with his unique style of guitar playing. He was all over the stage and was really rocking out with his band mates. Benji also has a great voice that really adds something special to the band, which wouldn’t create the sound that Scarletta has without him. The band played some of their hit songs which included “Want Me”, “Right Here Right Now”, and “Island Fever”. They also covered the song “Footloose”, which was absolutely great! I really enjoyed their twist on that song.
Before I knew the night came to an end and Scarletta had left the stage. They were more than grateful to have played at the University and I hope to see them back in the area soon. Before I left the Union was able to talk to Benji, the guitarist. He was telling me that their main focus right now is just touring and their having a blast doing it. He was also talking about some of the bands that they have opened for. They have opened for Colt Ford, Thompson Square, and used to be the backup band for Bo Bice from American Idol. After talking to Benji, it sounds to me that they are well on their way to the top and they won’t stop till they get there. Overall it was a great show despite the small crowd and the sound technician having trouble keeping the microphones at level. I look forward to hearing more about Scarletta and their success and wish them the best of luck for the future.
Scarletta is embarking on a new journey featuring new lead singer Emilee Allan. The band is coming off an amazing 2013 with over 150 shows and expecting even more in 2014. The band has been a Nashville mainstay for the last 2 years working with Grammy Award-winning producer Blake Chancey. They are now in the studio with a hot new duo production team of Steffon Hamulak and Eric Torres of Sea The Desert Entertainment. The band is a big believer that everything happens for a reason and is convinced that Emilee has come to them at the perfect time. The new recordings are a blend of self-written material as well as songs from some of the best writers in Nashville. Scarletta performed the NACA circuit to over 100 universities from coast to coast and continues to beef up their touring presence at clubs and theaters throughout the country.
The band is composed of the trio fiddle player Nathan Stoops, guitarist Benji Harris, and lead singer Emilee Allan. Nathan is a classically trained violist that brings a flare to country music that makes him one of the best fiddle players in all of Nashville. Benji is an accomplished bandleader who blends his lead vocals as effortlessly as his harmonies. Emilee is the new spark plug that is the lead singer and dynamic centerpiece of Scarletta.
Scarletta was included in Billboard Magazine’s Top 10 Country Artists to watch in 2013. Their first single to country radio, “Right Here Right Now,” reached number 28 on the Music Row Radio Chart. Scarletta wrote the single with rock personality Paul Taylor (Winger, Alice Cooper) who co-produced the track with Blake Chancey.
Scarletta looks forward to seeing you on the road soon.

Emilee Allan started singing when she was 8 years old with a karaoke machine her grandfather bought her. Her voice is both beautiful, powerful, and a great range. With a recent move to Nashville from her Michigan home, Emilee Allan is off to a great start in her career in the music scene. Her style is more country pop rock than anything else, but it has a soft tenderness to it that makes me quiver. Emilee has a range of sounds within her songs that displays her talents. The production quality of her music is excellent, as well. What’s so lovely about her music is that it has a strong
With lyrics that make you want to stand up and shout, “Celebrate You” is a great country pop song. It has a sweet violin part that dances around and grabs your attention immediately. Violin is one of the most beautiful instruments when done correctly, and I think that in “Celebrate You,” the violin is one of the best parts. Violins are like the “Little Cricket” from the film Men In Black. They are small but pack a HUGE punch, which is what makes them so wonderful when they’re in music.
Another song by Emilee you should check out is “Crazy Ride,” which is one of my favorites from her repertoire because it best displays her voice. When someone has a voice like this, they need to sing and share it with the world. Other songs you must hear are “Burned This Bridge,” “Don’t Leave Me Broken,” “Wrong For Me,” “Bad,” and my personal favorite “January.”
Enjoy and listen to her music here:

Edwardsburg Argus, Emilee Allan CD Release Concert
"She recorded at the Sound Kitchen in Nashville with producer Kent Wells. A lifelong Edwardsburg resident who always lived in the same house, Emilee’s glad to have her sister for moral support when she gets “a little homesick.” She performed at 12 and Porter in Tennessee recently to showcase her recording. In 2008, while performing with the Young Americans as a freshman in Niles, she was selected to present one of her original songs, “Today is the Day,” which cinched for her what she wanted to do after graduation. Emilee, who won’t turn 19 until June 18, is the daughter of David and Cathy Woodill. Her stage name combines her parents’ middle names. We caught up with Emilee Monday afternoon. On Tuesday, she was meeting with a producer to see about touring with or opening for other artists."

"Allan’s music is, as she describes it, a mixture of blues and country. Influenced by country heavyweights like Carrie Underwood first and foremost, she’s now discovering the soft, bluesy sounds of artists like Norah Jones and that style is moving into her music."
