Eduardo Lis (email@example.com) is a drummer and composer born in Argentina. He lived in Canada, where he released two CDs and played among others at Montreal and Toronto Jazz Festivals. He now lives in South Florida where he performs and teaches music.
Eduardo Lis & The Latin Jazz Menu performs as an acoustic Trio (piano, bass and drums) or Quartet (with addition of saxophone).
The Latin Jazz Menu performs a music repertoire blending Jazz, Latin, Brazilian and South American styles such as Samba, Bossa nova, Partido Alto, Malambo, Candombe, Songo, Afoxe, Chacarera, Carnavalito and Tango fusion.
The sound of this acoustic quartet is full of beautifully crafted and arranged melodies infused with exciting improvisations.
In the past Eduardo graduated with an BFA and later M.A. in jazz studies from York University in Toronto, Canada. He was the leader of Latino Jazz Project and Aconcagua Latin-Jazz. He recorded two CDs and performed at venues and Jazz Festivals in Canada and the US. In South Florida Eduardo Lis recently performed with The Latin Jazz Menu at le chat Noir (Miami), NYSW Jazz Lounge (Fort Lauderdale) and Havanna USA (Davie). The band was also featured in "Live from the 305" on WLRN 'Sundial' with Luis Hernandez.
As a free lance drummer Eduardo played drums with Midnight Kahuna at their CD release album at John Matin's in Coral Gables and at Hard Rock Cafe. A versitile drummer, he plays with R&B and country bands, and played percussion with Resonance recording CD 'Polarity.' He plays a Yamaha 30 Anniversary set and uses Zildjian and Sabian cymbals.
